Many people have been bringing the issue of being unable to comment on blogger blogs using the Safari browser. If you've been having this issue, you're about to hear some good news.
There are many bloggers who wrote to me highlighting this issue, and since I experienced it too recently (after upgrading my Macbook) I just had to dig deeper into it.
This issue is fixable and you're going to learn exactly how to fix this issue in this post.
01. Clear Browser cache and Cookies
The first step is to clear out your browser cache and cookies.
NOTE : This will log you out of all websites you are currently logged into. Please make sure you have all passwords stored somewhere or you remember them!
When I mention Tab, I mean the set of options that look like this:
- Open your Safari browser
- In the tab click on Develop > Empty Cache
- Then Click on Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove All
You've successfully managed to empty cache and cookies, check to see if your comments are working now. If they are still not working, continue to step 2.
02. Disable Safari Extensions
Sometimes extensions can cause conflict on websites. You'll need to check if any of your extensions on Safari are causing this:
- Click on the Safari tab > Preferences > Extensions
- Now disable each extension one at a time and see if the comments work.
- Once you've repeated this step for all your extensions you'll know if the extensions were causing this issue, if you still can't comment on blogger blogs then you can turn your extensions on again and move onto the 3rd step.
03. Enable Cookies and Cross-Site Tracking
If none of the above steps have helped then:
- Click on Safari > Preference > Privacy
- Make sure that Block cookies is unchecked.
- Make sure that Prevent cross site-tracking is unchecked.
This should definitely help solve the issue once and for all!

And lastly, you can request for a blog post or a tutorial you need but can't find on the blog.
As a blogger product expert in the Blogger Forums, and a tech and design expert who offers services related to the blogger platform, I find it important to discuss some known issues and more about the blogger platform.
Recently bloggers have been reporting that their images in blog posts have disappeared leaving a minus sign on grey circle. This is an issue that seems to be affecting all blogger blogs.
The good thing is that blogger is aware of it and is working on a fix. However, there is no official ETA available on the resolution.
My personal recommendation
This issue has been affecting all my blogs as well. If you are impatient on a resolution I recommend swapping out your images, this means re-upload them to your blogger blog posts.
When will a fix be available?
As I mentioned, there is no official ETA available on it, however I'm keeping a close watch on the issue itself and will update this blogpost whenever a fix is offered.
Additionally you can even follow this post on Blogger Forums to stay updated.
TIP : Always keep your blog backed up, with a copy of your post and the images stored locally on your computer.
This will help you to easily replace images or content if something goes wrong! In case you don't have the images stored with you, you should click on the image link in your blog post editor, go to Google Album Archive or From This Blog and you should be able to get the image back into your post.

Recently, I painted this beautiful floral wreath with yellow roses and red peonies making it a perfect fit for this weather. It was time well spent. With real watercolour stimulation, it's hard to say it's handprinted, but digitally.
It's available for purchase on my shop, my Etsy and on Canva as always.

Author Bio
A mom of two teenage girls. A full-time, professional mom blogger based in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoys learning and reviewing new products. She's a passionate brand influencer.
Here at Balkeni Studio, I want to make sure I encourage people to learn, grow and become the best versions of themselves. Obviously, I want to impact as many people as possible.
An year ago, I made the decision to work with small business, solopreneurs, and creatives. To help them brand their business and blog online instead of going after the big clients. I did this, because I like supporting small ventures with big hearts.
I like working with heart-centred businesses, not for-profit ones. Ones that want to genuinely help their customers. As I've served clients with all kinds of budgets, I realised, so many more could benefit from my work as a designer if only it was more affordable.
Till date, this has been the biggest challenge to my business. I don't wish to compromise on the quality, and there is only so many clients I can help at a given time.
And let's not forget bloggers and creatives who simply cannot afford my services at the moment. I still wish to help them.
After brainstorming for quite some months, I was finally able to take the plunge. I'm offering more and more of my designs, graphics, and more on Canva!
Working with clients over the course of 4 years I have made note of one thing repeatedly, you guys dig Canva. It's understandable, because it's free and lets you design easy.
So, to make design and branding more affordable for you guys, Balkeni Studio will now be contributing to Canva. This will include images, graphics, clipart, designs and templates.
Why Canva for Affordability
Canva is free, you can't go over budget with something that's free. Canva has premium elements you can use in a design for $1. Imagine, an endless supply of quality graphics from Balkeni to you at $1. If that isn't a STEAL, I don't know what is.
I actually just feel so amazing about offering this to you guys because I know for a fact that this will encourage you to DIY your design, do it better and make branding your blog online an easy task for you.
As I add more DIY design tutorials on the blog, I hope my Canva graphics and templates will help you. You will still be able to purchase all design elements from my Etsy and the Balkeni shop in inclusion to Canva.
Why I'm Doing This
As I already mentioned, it means the world to me to help YOU. Every single blogger that I can drive towards success, makes me feel like I'm making a difference in that person's world. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing my clients happy because it's working for them.
And you know what I hate?
I love your work, and I know I need this, I just wish I was able to afford this..."
- Every new blogger on a small budget ever.
So, this is my solution to your branding on a budget needs. I've done most of the brand work for you. All you need to do is make it your own, encourage yourself to be creative and watch your brand flourish.
I hope you'll love this Easter surprise.
If you like the content I create, and it has benefitted you in anyway, please consider donating. The thing is, blogging IS hard-work. I put in hours of work in each tutorial I write here, and tons of research into bringing quality information.
I don't push one-size-fits-all into the work I do, also this blog is powered by pizzas, coffee and fruit cream. That's expensive. Help me keep up the good work by supporting my work.
Alternatively, you can add my blog to your reading list, or sign-up to receive all my posts in your inbox. You can even request a blog post or tutorial you really want to see on the blog.
Recently got done painting this floral wreath in a painting session early morning. It was inspired by my travel to Dehradun where I spotted the blue flower originally. It was a bliss painting this one, overall, it has a calm and collected tone.
Serene, feminine and elegant.
This further led me to add this into my Canva library, you can now download it and use it in your designs however you wish within the constraints of Canva licenses.
I hope you have a fun time using this design and playing around with it. This is in lieu of my efforts to make high-quality graphics more easily available to creatives so that they don't get caught up with hefty licenses.
You can also purchase it from my shop, or Etsy.
It could be that you have just stumbled upon this whole, "blogging" thing recently or you've known about it for a little while yet never really thought of getting into it until now.
So, you quickly Google, "How To Start A Blog", and suddenly you see a lot of information being thrown at you, words you've never heard before or you have heard before but don't know what they mean and you just don't want to look like a complete newbie and never asked anyone to help you out.
Don't worry, I'm here to explain everything there is to 'starting a blog' and the blogging basics you should know about before you start blogging. In fact, my aim is to help people like you, to make blogging more accessible to those who are on a budget, or those who just want to get started but don't know how to do it.
I'm here to hold your hand and guide you through it all.
Today we are answering any and all questions you may have about the words "domain name". How people use it, what is the use of a domain name and more.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is like your address on the world wide web. Let's compare you blog to a house, when you would want someone to visit your house, you'll give them your address, right?
Similarly, if your blog is your house and you want someone to visit you will need an address. This address is called domain name.
A domain name can be anything, numbers and characters, however they cannot have spaces between them.
As simple as that. For someone to be able to find your website and/or blog online you will need to give them your address which is called a domain name.
Kinds Of Domain Name
For the purpose of this blog post I will not go into the technicalities as you don't need to know those.
But I do want you to know the difference between a domain name and a subdomain. As this will be handy in your blogging adventures.
You will mostly see two kinds of domain names on the Internet:
- balkeni.com (yourdomain[.]com)
- shop.balkeni.com (subdomain[.]yourdomain[.]com)
As expected, the first one is just the name of your domain, the second one is called a subdomain. It is part of my domain name, think of the relationship as a parent and child. Domain being the parent and subdomain being the child.
Under any given domain name you can have as many unique subdomains as you want.
Premium And Free Domain Names
Now that you know what a domain name is, and what are the two most common types , it's time you learn about paid and free domain names.
Usually domain names are paid, this is why most people use the term, "custom domain name". This just means that you have purchased your domain name from a domain name registrar (a company that sells domain names).
These will cost anywhere from $12-$25 (or more) depending upon who you are purchasing from.
Free domain names on the other hand come from from free blogging platforms. When you use a free blogging platform, for example Blogger, WordPress, and Wix you will notice that your domain name will be subdomain[.]blogspot[.]com or subdomain[.]wordpress[.]com these are as you may have released, subdomains of the parent domain of Blogger, WordPress or Wix.
If you choose to remain on a free domain, it is completed okay. But if you're wanting to brand your blog I would suggest you opt for a premium domain name.
Where can I buy my domain name from?
Depending on your blogging platform, you can buy your domain name from a registrar for example Godaddy. Or through your blog host itself.
What are my recommendations?
I usually recommend buying directly from your blog host (the company you use to host your blog). But if you would like to buy your domain name from a third-party provider then I like Godaddy simply because of their customer service.
But on a general level I prefer buying the domain from your blogging platform of choice.
I hope this blog post has helped bring clarity to your concept of a domain name, it's important to understand these concept so you can save both money and time along with avoiding any confusions later on.
